Why should dentists have websites?

It is somewhat amazing that this question is even being asked in this age, but the fact is that many dentists do not have their own websites. I’m sure that plenty of practices have plenty of patients that they have had for ten or twenty years, and there is very little chance that these people are going to set about finding a new dentist.
The fact of the matter is, though, that there are a lot of people who are looking for new dentists all of the time. You only have to think of a person moving to a new area. They are not going to wait until they get to know people sufficiently well so that they can find out the lowdown on all of the dentists in the town – they are going to go online and find some local Dental websites. It stands to reason these days for people to search for nearly everything online, so there is no reason why they would not search for dentists.
People also sometimes want to change dentists because they have a new job in a different town, and although they aren’t moving house, they will find it easier to have their dentist appointments in the town in which they work, so they need to find a new practice. Again, these people will be trying to find Dentists websites online, and if a dentist is not represented in this way, then he is not going to win the new business.
It is all very well relying on your core base of clients, but the sad fact is that people get old, and eventually they stop coming. If you take a medium to long term view of your business, then you would be getting your own website for your dental practice right now.
